Jordan Bayles

I’m a senior software engineer at Google on the Chrome Media team, working on Chrome’s audio stack: the parsers and pipelines that turn audio files and streams into sound. Lately I’ve focused on hardening that code by moving it to Rust and fuzzing it, and on better debugging tools and docs.

Earlier work includes the backend for tab region capture, a rewrite of Chrome’s Cast Streaming implementation, and the Open Screen library.

I produce electronic music as Chasma Sound.

I DJ parties and weddings. At weddings I like to keep the traditional moments and give the rest of the night more range.

I read a lot of science fiction and fantasy, tinker endlessly with my smart home, try to stay active, and spend as much time as I can with friends and family.
